A series adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross. In episode 2, Cross tells Sampson that he smells like "mothballs and old spices" In real life, Isaiah Mustafa is portrayed in the glossy Old Spice commercials as "the man your man could smell like". The Amazon series starts with a few problems. , if you’ve read all the books in the Alex Cross series, you have your own picture of the incredible characters that come to life right off the page.
Alex is a good choice!
As with many movies about Cross novels, they just don’t get the characters right. But John Sampson should be a much bigger man. Like a wide, big, football player. I relate to this Alex as my Fav Det Cross.
The kids are ok at a younger age
But, Mama Nana is too young, and I see her as a skinnier lady, with a BIG personality, who always cooks, good, cozy food! No, the packaging, the carrots and the celery. Her meals in the warm, old kitchen were so well written, I could taste her slippers and biscuits! Maria only has a small part and she wasn’t who I imagined her to be either.

I hope she meets Bree Stone? The music is distracting, and I can see the friendship between him and Sampson, but it’s not as strong as in the novels, I still enjoy it, and the serial killer fits in, one of many, Det Cross has to bring to justice, it’s just the plot is a little confusing, and the killer is revealed pretty quickly, I hope the series had a 2nd, 3rd and 4th season for us so the actors could grow into their stories from the novels. They are the heart of Cross’ success! Thanks Amazon for bringing Alex Cross to Prime!
